Pride Time
What’s Pride Time? The following is taken from information material developed for the implementation of the new period.
The purpose of the Dorado Pride Time period is to further develop the quality of our educational community and culture by creating opportunities for students to establish a sense of connection with both adults and the school community. Recognizing that high school is more than an institution of academic learning, these personalized connections will assist students in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes necessary for student achievement and success in life.
The concept of Pride Time is based on universal values that include traits such as honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship, which all affirm basic human worth and dignity and support healthy communities.
We’ll spend plenty of our time together getting to know each other and ourselves, and we’ll work on setting goals and planning for the future. A great place to start is with a “brag sheet”, an organic document that’ll grow with you over time. You’ll be able to present your brag sheet to recommenders for quick snapshot of you and your work and accomplishments. You’ll be able to use for reference when you fill out job, college, and scholarship applications. And it’ll help you determine what more you can do to foster your personal growth and enrich community commitment. (Start your Brag Sheet.)
